Overall Impression:
Strong, low standing field pigeon type; well muffed,
shell crested or plain headed.
Breed Characteristics:
Head: Oval, not too small, forehead arched,
plain headed or with well developed broad shell crest
with rosettes on each side.
Eyes:
Dark, small eye cere flesh colored to red.
Beak: Long, or red and yellow flesh colored, on
black and blue the upper beak is black and the lower
beak flesh colored.
Neck: Medium, strong at the shoulders and throat
cut out (no gullet).
Breast: Broad, deep, well rounded.
Back: Long, broad at the shoulder, slightly
sloping.
Wing: Strong, broad feathered, covering over the
back.
Tail: Long, closed, twelve tail feathers.
Legs: Long and well muffed, feathers as wide as
possible, long hock feathers; deep set.
Feathering: Richly developed, yet not loose.
Colors: Black, blue, red, and yellow.
Color and Markings: Black, red, and yellow to be
pure and lustrous. Blue light and even in color with
black tail band; white on the outer edge of the outside
feather on both sides of tail is permitted. Colored
areas are the tail with the upper rump area, the wedge
under the tail, and the spot; all other feathers are
white; a sharp and straight border between the white and
colored area over the rump and behind the vent. Spot at
base of beak small becoming broader as it rises off beak
forming a nice berry shape reaching a height to about
the middle of the eye at the top of the head not
touching the eye cere at either side.
