The Saxon Fairy Swallow was developed in Saxony. It is characterized by a full, broad shell crest, terminating at each ear in a rosette. It also has a small mane. The variety is heavily muffed with long hock feathers which give it a squatty appearance. The feathers of the body are white save for a frontal mark, wings, and muffs which are colored.
