There are two varieties of the Polish Orlik or as they are usually celled in the United States - Ukrainian Skycutter. The variety that is most commonly found in the U.S. is the Wilenski Orlik and the other variety is the Lubelski Orlik. Both varieties are described in this standard. The two varieties differ in size, appearance, and flying abilities.

Origin: Poland, near the Ukran Mountains. Related to a number of European performing pigeons including the Ukrainian Shield Tumbler.

Wilenski

General Impression: A long and strong body with a wide and rounded chest. The neck is short and the wings are carded below the tail.

Head: Narrow and slightly elongated, the forehead is low and flat.

Eyes: The iris is of an amber color.

Cere: Narrow and of a delicate blue-gray color.

Beak: Long and slim and of a horn color.

Neck: Short, broad, and wide at the shoulders. The throat is slightly curved and rounded.

FAULTS:
Same for Wilenski and Lubelski

Rounded head.
Eyes of any color except amber, ie dark or red.
Too long or too slim of neck.
Narrow shoulders and/or breast.
Wings carried upon the tail.
Wing touching the ground.
Lack of colored feathers in the tail needed to form the frame.
Less than 14 tail feathers.
Colored feathers in the middle of the tail.
Short or feathered legs.
White feathers in the wings and shoulders.
Lack of intense coloration.
 


Chest:
Broad, proportionally short. Well feathered especially towards the rear of the chest.

Wings: Strong, broad, and long. The wings are carried below the tail, but they should not touch the tail.

Tail: Wide and fiat. The tail should contain from 14 to 16 feathers. An even number of colored feathera should be on each side of the tail (1 X 1; 2 X 2; 3 X 3; 4 X 4) forming a frame.

Legs: Medium in length, straight, unfeathered and red in color.

Colors: Red, black, yellow, blue, chocolate, and fawn. The coloration should be intense and of an even shade. The lower part of the shouldera and the feathers of the tail are of a very light color, almost white. The end of the wing feathera are also of a white color with self oval shape spots in the red, yellow, chocolate, and fawn colored varieties

Lubelski

General Impression: Of medium size with a short strong body. The chest is wide and protrudes forward and upwards.

Head: Small, rounded towards the forehead, curved at the neck.

Eyes: Iris of an amber color, but a pearl colored iris is allowed.

Cere: Narrow, light and blue-gray in color.

Beak: Medium size, of strong setting. In color the beak is of a light to dark horn color.

Neck: Short, broad and of a conicel shape. The throat is slightly rounded.

Chest: Broad, gently rounded, curved and uplifted.

Shoulders: Broad, full, and well feathered.

Tail: Wide and fiat. The tail should contain from 14 to 16 feathers. An even number of colored feathera should be on each side of the tail (1 X 1; 2 X 2; 3 X 3; 4 X 4) forming a frame.

Wings: Strong and wide fitted closely to the body. The wings should rest upon the tail and the wing tips should reach almost to the end of the tail.

Legs: Short; the legs should be quite thick where they join the body. The legs are widely spaced and must be unfeathered.

Colors: Red, black, yellow, blue, chocolate, and fawn. The coloration should be intense and of an even shade. The lower part of the shouldera and the feathers of the tail are of a very light color, almost white. The end of the wing feathers are also of a white color with self oval shaped spots in the red and yellow varieties.

Order of Evaluation: General impression - Head, including eye, cere, and beak - Body - Color and markings.
